Extending the season with high-tech gear
As the weather turns cold and trackday opportunities dwindle, many of us become dedicated forcast watchers, constantly on the lookout for any opportunity to take a street ride, however short. Just in time for the cold November rain, Alpinestars has released new gear designed to work together as a system that will keep you warm and dry from head to toe, no matter what Mother Nature throws your way. P-1 Sport Touring Drystar jacket and pants   Starting with the outer layer, Alpinestars offers the P-1 Sport Touring Drystar jacket and pants, developed for the rider who’s looking for sporty all-weather gear. Constructed from 500D Cordura Texland Airguard fabric, this jacket and pants are lightweight, highly abrasion resistant and breathable. Inside, each piece features the Drystar membrane lining that gives the gear its name. This high-tech lining locks out water yet allows your vaporised perspiration to escape. If you’ve ever become soaked by your own sweat while wearing conventional raingear, you’ll remember how that overheated you on a warm day or caused you to begin feeling clammy and losing body heat on a cold day. By preventing this, the Drystar membrane offers good weather resistance and comfort in both warm and cool conditions. Best of all, since it’s already built into the jacket, climbing in and out of bulky, easy-to-tear raingear becomes a thing of the past. This jacket and pants zip together at the waist and offer all of the comfort, adjustment and safety features we’ve come to expect from any piece of Alpinestars gear. Available colours for the $289.95 P1 Jacket are Black, Black/Red and Black/Blue, in size small to 4XL. The $199.95 P-1 pants come in black only and are available in size small to 3XL.
Thermal Tech Underwear   Since the P1 jacket and pants are all-weather gear, the next step is to keep your body warm inside of them. Alpinestars Thermal Tech underwear is engineered to provide core temperature regulation and comfort for all types of riding conditions. The Warm Tack base fabric used for both pieces is Nano treated to increase capillary circulation and promote warmth. The fabric is also made to wick away moisture, keeping your body warm and dry. The compression fit of this underwear reduces muscle fatigue in the upper and lower body, increasing riding comfort. The $79.95 top and 69.95 pants are available in black only, sized small to 3XL.
