The Alpinestars brand is a staple in the motorcycle protective gear market, with an emphasis on equipment suitable for competition.  When it comes to racing, regardless of the venue, Alpinestars is there. In MotoGP, they are the most visible and recognized brand in the series.  On any given weekend, you can also find Alpinestars leathers, gloves, and boots protecting riders at club races and trackdays. Although their product line is extensive, it all started with the boots.

Alpinestars’ latest version of their premier roadrace boot is known as the Supertech R. This model replaces the previous Supertech boot and is more than up to the task. The Supertech R boot boasts hi-tech micro fiber construction, aerodynamic design and innovative ventilation in a highly flexible package.

Previously, when I’d considered using the Supertech boot model in my own race program, I felt that it was too bulky.  The new Supertech R addresses that issue with an improved, more streamlined design. Right out of the box the quality and craftsmanship are evident. Many of the features we have come to expect from Alpinestars are present here, including a removable inner booty, an external ratchet strap on the calf area, and the durable yet flexible sole. The Supertech R features all the traits that I liked about previous Alpinestars boots, now slimmed down through wind tunnel testing and careful redesign.

That’s right…..  I said wind tunnel.  Even the aerodynamics of these boots was taken into consideration, utilizing wind tunnel time with Honda and Ducati  Moto GP teams.  Supertech R boots are not only designed to provide uncompromising protective qualities but also less drag than the competition’s footwear.   In addition to providing superior aerodynamic performance, these boots also feature specifically positioned ventilation that provides maximum airflow.
