Ducati Day with Elite Sportbike

It would have taken 10 seconds to get off the track bikes and onto the Ducks, but NPR would not let us on the bikes once the rest had set off, undoubtedly because of some sort of liability sub-clause or perhaps federal regulations and a fear of black helicopters and military reprisal. Fortunately, Trackdaymag has already covered the 848 in some detail earlier (http://www.trackdaymag.com/Article.aspx?id=778). But it would have been nice to try it out personally.

Despite that small disappointment, our Ducati Day with Elite was a welcome adventure. Not only did it afford more riding time overall, it also let us sample some bikes we might otherwise never get a chance to try and may never be able to afford, in an environment much more suited to putting them through their paces than the average test ride at your dealership. With any luck, this sort of thing will become a more common feature as track day providers look to provide maximum bang for the buck.  You know you’d like the chance to test ride a bunch of Ducatis, even if you’re not willing to admit it….Ducati truck
