My-Bands Medical Alert Bracelet

Want to Save Your Life?

medblackopenNone of us likes to think about it, but there is a certain amount of danger involved in zooming around racetracks on our motorcycles.  Sooner or later, we’re all likely to make some interesting new friends in the medical profession.  Hopefully the circumstances of this meeting won’t be too dire; in most cases they aren’t.  But what if you’re unconscious?  Are there things a doctor or paramedic should know about your physical condition before they treat you?  Who’s going to tell them these details if you can’t?   This new little wrist band could very well do just that.

Remember those medic alert bracelets from back in the seventies? I had one just because I thought it looked cool. Well, that little bracelet has become technologically mature now. A company called MY-BANDS LLC, from where else, California, has developed a medical alert band which has as its main feature a USB chip which you can program.  You can store 100 meeeelion mega bites of medical information, including all your previous broken bones, past surgeries and favorite pain meds.  Literally, the list can be endless.  Once you’ve programmed it, a medic can simply plug your bracelet into any USB port i.e., the computer in the ICU or aboard the meat wagon at the track and up comes all the medical, insurance and contact information that could save your life. The applications for this device are not limited merely to medical info, either. You could get these bracelets for your young children as well and program it with the info necessary to return them home if they ever got lost.

MedblackThough I’m not in any danger of shattering the lap records at my local tracks, I’m enough of a realist to know that things can still go wrong.  I think the My-Bands bracelet is a great idea for anyone who rides a motorcycle, on the street or at the track.  When you think about spending 29.99 to help save yourself, the price seems pretty cheap.  Oh yeah, they are made from some space age rubber stuff and are water resistant to 160mph. They come in all the colors of the rainbow too.  Get yours at http://www.my-bandsonline.com/
