Track Days in Motion

Behind the scenes with Team Pro Motion
Team: A group of people linked in a common purpose in order to conduct tasks that are high in complexity. Pro: Short for Professional; a member of a vocation founded on specialized educational training. Motion: Any physical movement or change in position or place. Team Pro Motion is an organization that is focused on redefining the trackday experience. For the past thirteen years, this organization has catered to the need for speed of thousands of moto-enthusiasts, primarily in the Northeast. When we first heard about TPM, we were told by many, that they were the safest and most enjoyable trackday organization out there. Additionally, we’d also heard that their events were incredibly fun and professionally run. We decided to investigate and see for ourselves if all the rumors were true. Our first contact with TPM was with the Director of Operations, Marc Frank, in early March. We were very impressed with Mr. Frank’s candor and pleasant demeanor. After we told Mr. Frank about our intentions of writing an article about TPM, we were invited to attend the coach’s meeting the following week at the New Jersey Motor Park in Millville, NJ. This would also be where we would get the chance to meet and sit with the famous Mr. Glen Goldman, founder of TPM. In all honesty, walking into to that room filled with CR’s, AMA racers and TPM Execs, we felt like rank beginners among seasoned pros. Thomas Muther, our lead writer for this story, has only 4 trackdays under his belt and here found himself mingling with multi-time podium winners! His inferiority complex was short lived though, dispelled by warm handshakes and friendly introductions. It didn’t take long for us to recognize the camaraderie and sense of family this group of people have. As we walked around introducing ourselves, we found that the coach with the least seniority in the group had been with TPM for four years. The backgrounds of the TPM staff varied from Military personnel to Engineers.
