    Putnam Park is the Field of Dreams. Cut from surrounding cornfields, the track's gently rolling acres of emerald green grass, flowering trees and white, split-rail fences make it seem like a thoroughbred horse farm for motorcycles. The layout is fast, flowing and addictive, with perfect pavement.
    You step from the rows of corn, helmet in hand. Sportbikes scream past at impossible lean angles, sparks dancing from their footpegs, exhaust notes quavering as tires paint fat black arcs of rubber across an undulating canvass of asphalt. You ask the cornerworker, "Is this heaven?" "No," he replies. "It's Putnam Park."
