Defiling a Perfect Ten
Motorcycle molestation
Her innocence is intoxicating. She's utterly gorgeous. Flawless, yet
completely unaware of her allure or potential. I make her nervous. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she almost seems to say, as my eyes linger greedily on the sensual curves beneath her shimmering green frock. Completely lacking in experience, she can only imagine what I have planned for her.
Seduction is a game of breaking down barriers. First, I must gain her trust. I begin with a small yet beautiful gift of swingarm spools. She likes the way they look on her and when I suggest trying them out by propping her up on a rear stand, she's more than willing. In that position, she feels all grown up and racy! She barely notices as I slip my fingers into her bodywork, gently and methodically unscrewing, unclipping, unplugging....
In minutes she's naked. My breath catches in my throat as I behold her in this state. She's so waiflike! She assures me that she's a big girl now; every bit of 1000cc. To my eyes, she could still be a 600. Even in her unsullied innocence, there's pride in her bearing as she perches there on her race stands. Once divested of her street clothes, there's not an extra ounce on her anywhere. I yearn to ride her, imagining that taut chassis wriggling and squirming beneath me as she rears back and screams. But now is not the time. No, not yet. There's still much to do before she's ready to go all the way.
What is it about a brand-new sportbike that makes you feel like a dirty old man when you look at it? Is it the knowledge that you could be the first to ride it? To remove its plastics and modify it to suit your will? Is it the incredible cleanliness that only a zero-mile machine will ever possess? Yeah, probably all that. For us though, it's the sheer decadence of knowing that this machine will never turn a mile on the street. Straight from the crate, she's bound for the track. Now that's sexy.
For 2012, TrackdayMag.com associate, Bart Schuster, has decided to go big. As a longtime Kawasaki fan, Bart knew that the ZX10R, factory equipped with ABS and Traction Control, was the machine he desired. Initially, a 2012 model was to be his choice but when Chicago-based Honda/Kawasaki Dealer, The Zone, offered him a sweetheart deal on a remaining 2011 model, Bart couldn't say no.
Schuster's situation is unique. He's from the Chicago area but has moved east for work. While he's quite gainfully employed there, Bart really misses both the friends and the racetracks that he left behind in the Great Lakes region. As a veteran Sportbike Track Time coach, Bart never has a problem finding work if he can make it back for a weekend. All this has led him to decide that he'll be an absentee owner. This Kawasaki will be prepped and stored in Schuster's home town, ready for use whenever he can get back. Of course for such a plan to work, you need enablers. Bart had to find a crew of folks who could make his dream come true.
Here at Trackdaymag.com, we take great pride in our own enabling skills and have many s
imilarly minded individuals on speed dial. Apart from that, we try to do at least one major project each year. What could be cooler than doing a full track buildup from brand new on a ZX10R, which is unquestionably on the leading edge of what is currently available to the sportbike-buying public? When Schuster asked if we'd like to be involved, we were saying yes before he could even finish! There are almost surely less expensive cures for homesickness but have you ever heard of one that sounds like more fun?
