Spartan One Piece Custom Tailored Leather Suit

Made to order at a nice price

He stood with his Grinch feet ice cold in the snow...

Being a bit of a giant, I don’t exactly fit into off-the-rack leathers.  I needed a new suit but figured I’d have to spend $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 to get one custom made. While searching for alternatives, I discovered Spartan Leathers at www.SpartanLeathers.com.   This company offers a variety of off the rack or custom made suits for less than half that price.

Being from the school of, “It has to be expensive to be of high quality,” I will admit that I was skeptical at first.  You might be able to get away with wearing an inexpensive suit to a wedding but you’re not likely to go tumbling head over heels at such an event.  Well, then again, I’ve been to a few receptions where… Uh, never mind.

I’m all for doing research but this is my body we’re talking about here!  After talking with Spartan’s owner, Dave Bauman, I was convinced that these leathers were the real deal.  A number of racers have crashed in them at WERA events and initial reports on the suit’s durability have been good.  I decided to go for it and order a full-on custom suit.

The Spartan Leather sizing chart was very straightforward and easy to follow. There are a fair number of measurements to take, including some you would never think of on your own.  All are important and if taken properly will insure a good fit. We spent about 45 minutes making sure we got it right the first time.

The suit I picked is called the Spartan "Charge 1-Piece." Once ordered, the suit arrived in about four weeks, which was faster than I expected. The first thing I noticed was how much I liked the color combination.  Spartan does a good job with the dyes and the suit really “pops” visually.  The fit is perfect. You get what you order. I like a little more room in some places, a little less in others and with a custom suit you can get it just the way you want.
